Girls Abducted by Grandmother During Supervised Visit Found Safe
The two girls who were abducted by their grandmother during a supervised visit in Texas have been found safe. The girls, ages 6 and 8, were taken from the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office substation in Angleton on Wednesday, April 27, 2023. Their grandmother, 54-year-old Maria Rodriguez, was supposed to return them to their mother at the end of the visit, but she did not.
A statewide Amber Alert was issued for the girls, and law enforcement agencies across the state were on the lookout for them. On Thursday, April 28, 2023, the girls were found safe in Houston. Rodriguez was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated kidnapping.
The girls are now back with their mother.

Age 6: Hispanic female, 4 feet tall, 50 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes
Age 8: Hispanic female, 4 feet 2 inches tall, 60 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes
Maria Rodriguez:
Hispanic female, 54 years old, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 150 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes
Last known vehicle: 2012 blue Ford Focus with Texas license plate number AGH-2345
